THE Newton Abbot and District Committee of Cancer Research UK's annual Spring Luncheon, held at the Passage House Hotel, Kingsteignton, last week, raised £622. More than 100 people attended the luncheon, at which Christopher Hampton gave an amusing and interesting talk on his life in auctioneering and antiques. The grand draw, which has a top prize of a week in a Cornish cottage, a second prize of a two nights stay in The Royal Duchy Hotel, Falmouth, and many other prizes, including £25 worth of Jack's Patch garden centre vouchers, was launched. Winners will be announced at the Pink Dinner in October.

TICKET TO SUCCESS: Launching the grand draw at the luncheon are, left to right, Peter Hopwood committee vice chairman, Jean Marston luncheon chairman, Eric Oggelsby treasurer, Jill Blanchard secretary and John Blanchard chairman.
