A PACHYDERM of a hue not normally seen in the wild has returned to its stomping ground overlooking the A38 at Kennford

The new-look Orange Elephant replaces the original iconic elephant that first appeared about 10 years ago to promote The Orange Elephant ice cream parlour, which is produced nearby at  Taverners Farm at Lower Brenton.

However, the first elephant packed her trunk and wandered off Nellie-style at the beginning of the this year leaving many wondering where she’d gone.

According to Helen Taverner of Taverners Farm Nelly Number One has now been restored back to her original use as a children’s slide and is now quite content in her new elephant paddock while the new look replacement, complete with giant ice cream cone, continues on traffic watching duty over the A38.
