A KINGSTEIGNTON man has been remanded in custody on a theft and attempted theft charges.

Ryan James Davies, aged 51, of no fixed address in Kingsteignton, was charged with entering a house in Kingsteigntonwith the intention to steal and indicated a guilty plea to this at South and West Devon Magistrates' Court.

He pleaded guilty to damaging a bedroom rug worth £25 belonging to a woman at the Kingsteignton home.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing a purse and £15 in cash from a woman at another Kingsteignton address.

He was remanded in custody until April 28 for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
