A BUCKFASTLEIGH man has been remanded in custody on charges of assaulting a woman and damaging her door.

Dennis Ham, aged 28, of Plymouth Road, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting a woman in Buckfastleigh.

He also faces two charges of damaging her door on two separate occasions.

He is also charged with having a kitchen knife in a street in Buckfastleigh without good reason or lawful authority.

He was remanded in custody until March 3 for a trial.
