A runner from the Teignbridge Trotters has raised £400 to help the Alice Cross Centre in Teignmouth replace its outdated fire alarm system.

Sarah Blanchard completed the ‘scenic but demanding’ Dorset Villages Marathon last Sunday (May 4) despite suffering a nasty calf injury in March.

‘It was more than five hours of effort with some intense moments,’ Sarah reflected. ‘Running for the Alice Cross was a winning decision that got me to the finish line.’

The £400 raised will go towards the Alice Cross Centre’s Safety First appeal, which launched last month. The centre revealed last month that it could face temporary closure unless it raised £7,000 to replace its outdated fire alarm system.

‘Sarah’s achievement stands as a testament to what can be accomplished through dedication and community support,’ said an Alice Cross Centre spokesperson.
