DAWLISH Community Transport and Shopmobility are £500 better off, thanks to Salem Masonic Lodge.
Manager Sally Preston said: ‘Salem Lodge have always supported us, and this money is especially welcome as we’re about to launch a fundraising project to get new minibuses.’
She explained: ‘We provide a vital service for people between Exminster and Bishopsteignton, and we need to replace our fleet of ageing vehicles.
‘We have 10 vehicles and they are slowly reaching the end of their useful lifespan. Regulations and testing is strict and expensive.
‘Although each new vehicle can cost £65k, this money is so very important to us, and we’re once again very grateful to the Worshipful Master and brethren of Salem Lodge 1443 for their kind assistance.’ORDER YOUR DIGITAL EDITION HERE
