WITH the return of the popular Great British Bake Off, people up and down the country have been putting their culinary skills to the test – and it’s no exception in Bovey Tracey.
As part of the town’s Nourish Festival, the youth cafe organised the Great Bovey Bake Off, which saw Maureen Fitzpatrick being crowned star baker for her Victoria sandwich.
A total of 40 people entered the competition and at the end of the event all the cakes were sold off and the proceeds of around £150 went to the Youth Cafe.
See Friday’s Mid-Devon Advertiser for a round-up of the Nourish Festival.
