A florist and gift shop was officially opened by Teignmouth mayor councillor Cate Williams on Saturday (July 26).
Named after the owner’s daughter, Meadows relocated to Teignmouth’s arts quarter earlier this year. Meadows sells gifts, bespoke bouquets, flowers by the stem. It is part of the Interflora network.
Owner, Leanne Martin, studied art and design at Chelsea College of Art and Design before following her passion for gardening and flowers and taking a BTec in floristry. She worked for various florists in London before relocating to Devon after giving birth to her daughter.
Covid forced her to shift from her first premises in Dawlish to her summer house. Leanne then opened a shop on Brunswick Street in Teignmouth before ‘fortune led me to where I am now on Northumberland Place’. She hopes her shop ‘will be of great service to the community’.
