IT WAS a rare yellow day on the rail.

Three trains in the eye-catching hue passed through Teignmouth on Friday, and photographer Thomas Mills was there to snap the trio.

First through was the Network Rail track measurement loco, one of only two in the country, working down from Old Oak Common in London to Penzance.

Next up was a Colas Tamper from the Hackney Yard at Newton Abbot to Westbury, followed by a Colas Railfreight Class 70, travelling from Westbury to Truro.
