A SUITCASE full of family mementoes was found abandoned in Newton Abbot today.

The curious sight turned the heads of motorists and pedestrians alike at Jetty Marsh Road this morning.

One witness said: ‘It’s all a bit weird. The case was full of photo albums, including wedding pictures. Some were laid out, as if in memory of someone.

‘There were books and clothes with autographed names on them draped over the road sign - almost as if someone was erecting a shrine. It was just a bit sad. Quite odd, really.’

Police and officials at Teignbridge Council were alerted about the roadside distraction.
