THE River Teign moorings issue was subject of an informal meeting of town councillors and harbour commissioners on Monday night. Councillors were invited to the private question and answer session with commission chairman Jeremy Grammar and commissioner Colin Greenwell at Bitton House. It was to clarify the position on concessions issued to mooring holders. Cllr Susan Dawe, former commissioner and town councillor, attended the meeting. 'One of my concerns was some evidence that pointed to the fact that concessions were only for the lifetime of the holder, not for subsequent generations. 'But that is against the criteria agreed some time ago,' she said. Barry Wilson, chairman of the Teign Fisherman and Waterman Association, is to be requested to speak to members on the topic. Cllr Dawe said that she hoped the matter would be discussed in the public domain. 'This is affecting the traditional way of life here and it is crucial for this to be heard in public,' she said.
