THE chairman of the trustees, Wendy Gill, shows visitors to the Ashburton Museum open day on Saturday part of the exhibition devoted to #Brunel 200. The annual open day is to show residents improvements that have been carried out at the museum. In the past year covering on two flights of stairs has been added, while new shelves put in and the display of flints and arrowheads has been revamped by Dartmoor National Park Authority. The museum, in West Street, reopens for the summer season on Tuesday and will remain open until the beginning of October. Later in the year there will be an exhibition to mark the 90th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. On Saturday, May 6, there is a concert by Paul Cobley at Ashburton Town Hall at 7.30pm in aid of the museum repair fund.
