TRUSTEES at Ashburton Museum are having an open house at their West Street venue in the town on May 1.

They will use the occasion to thank groups and individuals who have helped out the enterprise with grant aid.

Plans for the year ahead will also be announced at the event which starts at 2pm.

Spokesman Philip Vogel said: ‘We will b explaining how the monies are being used to improve the displays and fabric of the building in line with our various policies.’

He added: ‘This season, in addition to our usual exhibitions bringing the past to the present and future generations of Ashburton, we will be joining the World War 1 commemoration with a display based on the War Memorial.’
