Classic songs by the Beatles, ABBA and Elvis Presley gave residents of Teignmouth’s Croft Lodge Care home a ‘ticket to ride’ down memory lane - and left them saying ’thank you for the music’.

Entertainers visited the residential home in Haldon Avenue to stage a special performance, using props to encourage the audience to sing, clap their hands and share memories evoked by the familiar tunes.

The performance by Shake, Rattle and Roll evoked the spirit of past decades, with hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.

The care home’s registered manager Sharon Jerwood said: “Days like this are incredibly special for our residents.

“Music has a powerful way of bringing back memories and creating moments of pure joy, and it was wonderful to see everyone so engaged and enjoying themselves.”
