Teign School's 2010 production of High School Musical sold out within days and was met with rave reviews from audiences following its five-show run last week. The pupils at the Kingsteignton school put their own stamp on the Disney film musical. Fay Churchill, director and head of drama and music, was delighted with the cast. 'There were more than 150 students involved on stage, in the band and behind the scenes and it was a privilege and pleasure to work with all of them.' Luke Smith and Lauren Coates played the lead roles of Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez. Their performances were brilliantly juxtaposed by the hilarious relationship between Emma Deavin and Josh Dyke playing the brother and sister act of Sharpay and Ryan Evans. These standout performances were interspersed with show-stopping full cast numbers such as Stick To The Status Quo and We're All In This Together. The show culminated in a triumphant finale which had the audience and even the headmaster, Vyv Game, dancing in the aisles.
