A FORMER Teignmouth fish and chip shop owner who knew Sir Jimmy Savile well says he is 'horrified' at the revelations that he was a serial paedophile.

A stunned Richard Gwillam, now living in Newton Abbot, declared: 'I am totally gobsmacked – I had no idea at all.'

But he said that his former wife Anna, who also met the 'national treasure', recently told him she always felt uncomfortable in his presence.

'She never said that at the time, but admitted it to me when the news broke – perhaps it was just a woman's intuition that he was not all he seemed.'
