THOUSANDS of farmers and suppliers converged at Westpoint, Exeter, for the first annual West Country Farm & Machinery Show. Farmers from across the region came to bid, buy, demo and drive the latest kit, as well as a few vintage gems at auction.

One of the organisers of the event, Fiona Mercer, said:

‘Today is an event that brings customers and manufacturers of farm machinery all together, so they can look at the new products available, network with each other and see some of the equipment in action. We have an auction that has all sorts of different things in it and has garnered a lot of attention, there was a really good interest there.

‘This is the first time that we have put on this show, and we’re really happy with how it’s gone and the interest it’s got from farmers in Devon and in the wider region. We’ve had over 2,500 people get tickets before the event but many more on the door, so the turnout’s been great.

‘Everyone’s had a great day, the sun’s been out, and we’re really pleased with how it’s going, but we’re always open to how we can make it bigger and better next year.'
