WORRIED residents have joined forces to campaign against the 'sheer scale' of additional homes planned for Newton Abbot.Concerned Residents Opposing Widespread Development, or Crowd, has launched an awareness campaign to alert residents to the existence of the district's emerging core strategy and the fact it proposes 9,000 extra homes in the town, 14,800 for the whole district.An alliance of Wolborough Residents' Association, Ogwell and Abbotskerswell parish councils, Crowd members have been spreading information about the contents of the strategy and encouraging people to sign letters of objection.Spokesman Robert Hall explained members of the organisation had hand delivered leaflets themselves to homes in the area informing residents of Teignbridge Council's drop-in sessions about the future plans.
