Anne Marie Morris, Prospective Conservative MP for Newton Abbot, writes:

In April, the Government intends to introduce new regulations which will abolish charities' and voluntary groups' exemption from the music licensing laws. This will have the effect of charging charities for playing music. This would be very costly to all our local voluntary groups and charities including youth clubs and village halls. The National Council of Voluntary Organisations estimates it will cost charities £20m a year.

The legislation has still has to be passed by the House of Commons and I am disappointed that our MP has not, as yet, supported Teignbridge's voluntary and charity sector by signing the motion objecting to it.
