BT plans to introduce a new 'Street Hub' in Kingsteignton, offering free public Wi-Fi and more.

The application - reference 26/00892/FUL - is seeking permission from Teignbridge Council to install a new generation BT Street Hub at land on Newton Road.

The hubs, which measure three metres tall, come with two screens each, on which advertisements and public information can be displayed.

The Street Hub provide free public Wi-Fi, emergency calling facilities, and device charging, supporting digital inclusion and accessibility for residents, workers, and visitors, the planning statement for 26/00892/FUL says.

Teignbridge Council are due to make a decision by July 29.
