Hair stylist Josh Woodman joined the glitz and glamour of ITV’s X Factor final last weekend, December 1 and 2.

Josh, from Newton Abbot, helped style the competitors and dancers on the show.

The 25-year-old Andrew Hill Salon stylist rubbed shoulders backstage with the likes of judge Robbie Williams, Take That, Kaiser Chiefs and competition finalists during preparations for the live shows. Sunday’s show was watched by more than 7.5 million people.

He said: ‘It was hard work but really incredible and eye opening to see that many celebrities.

‘I was assisting on everything, including Bella from the top ten on the show and the backing dancers.

‘It was tiring but so much fun. We were picked up at 8am and got home after 11pm both Saturday and Sunday. I travelled back on Monday and was back at Andrew Hill on Tuesday.’

Josh was one of 20 guest hair stylists who secured a backstage pass from more than 800 applicants.

He added: ‘Two or three of us were invited for each of the live shows. I was really pleased to get the final show, that was amazing.’

Josh is no stranger to working in London. He’s back in the capital this week for a L’Oréal runway show, followed in the new year by the Fashion Awards, Barcelona for a L’Oréal campaign, and back to ITV for Britain’s Got Talent in May.

He said: ‘It’s fantastic work but I always love coming back to Andrew Hill Salon.

‘It all started when Andrew put me forward for Graduate Fashion Week about five years ago then London Fashion Week.

‘London is great fun but I like having a balance between there and Newton Abbot. I’ve lived here all my life, went to Coombeshead Academy, and have great friends and family here. This is home.’
