A NEWTON Abbot based ­company has landed the £110 million contract for the long awaited Kingskerswell bypass, work on which will begin in the autumn.

Galliford Try, whose regional headquarters are in Silverhills Road, Decoy Industrial Estate, has December 2015 as the completion date.

In 1998 Galliford acquired renowned Newton Abbot housebuilder Midas Homes which had expanded rapidly in the south west, two years before construction companies Galliford and Try merged.
