CHRISTMAS has been rescued for two siblings whose presents ended up in the ‘lost property’ section at Newton Abbot Police Station.

Disappointment was dodged when the rightful owners claimed their mislaid gifts after they were left in two carrier bags outside a property in Sandringham Road.

Police issued an SOS through the press and social media which quickly tied up the mystery of the vanished parcels.

The caper started early on Monday afternoon when the unclaimed gifts were taken to the local nick.

A police spokesman said the gifts were claimed yesterday (wed). He thanked the public for their help.
