A YOUNG woman from Newton Abbot died in a two-car smash in Dorset at the weekend.
The 28-year-old, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene on the A35 between Dorchester and Bridport. Next of kin have been informed.
Police say the accident, at 6.30pm yesterday (Sun), involved a blue Renault Megane and a silver Toyota MR2 at Kingston Hill.
A 49-year-old man and a 44-year-woman sustained serious injuries and two 11-year-old children were slightly injured. All four, from the Barnstaple area, were taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment.
Crash investigators are appealing for witnesses to come forward.The local coroner has been informed.
Sgt Dave Stroud, of Dorset Police’s Traffic Unit, said: ‘I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the collision to please call Dorset Police.
‘I would like to thank motorists for their patience during the road closure, which was necessary to allow us to establish what happened.’
