AN accident involving as many as six vehicles is causing long delays on the A38 this morning, Monday, September 8.

The northbound carriageway had been partially blocked, with one lane closed, following the incident, which occurred between Harcombe Cross and Haldon Hill.

Six vehicles were involved in the incident, Devon & Cornwall Police have said.

The road was cleared at around 9am, with two vehicles having to be recovered.

Delays in excess of 30 minutes, with approximately four miles of congestion is being reported by National Highways.

A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: ‘We were called to reports of a six vehicle collision near Haldon Hill on the A38 at 7.45am.

‘There are no serious injuries reported and the road was cleared by 9am after two cars had been recovered’.
