A DEVON charity, run by Teignmouth's Val Davies, desperately needs some land in the Teignbridge area in order to continue its work – caring for rescued horses and ponies.
Val, of Barn Park Road, Teignmouth, used to run Noah's Ark Sou'west, with friend Sue Christian, in Tiverton.
Sue moved to Wales and sold her land, which they were using to house the horses. Val then joined another friend, Anne Daignton, in Anstey, between Exeter and Tiverton.
Now Anne is selling her land as well and Val has been left with the difficult task of finding somewhere to resume the work which has meant so much to her for the last 30 years.
Most of the horses and ponies she takes in have some illness – these are kept for life. the healthy ones are normally re-homed.
She wants to find some land to rent with a barn/stable, with room for at least three horses, and within reasonable travelling distance of her Teignmouth home so she can carry on and take in more horses which need care.
Val said: 'In a perfect world there would be a generous benefactor, someone who has a love for horses and some land that may wish to be involved in the charity themselves, but I don't know where they are.'
Contact Val after 7pm on 01626 773507 if you can help.
