Real horsepower briefly ruled the road in Newton Abbot this week when a travelling caravan crept through the town.

The gently trotting head-turner coped patiently with the incline of the Totnes Road as it made its tireless way towards the welcome flatlands of Ipplepen.

Motorists showed due deference and patience with the outmoded transport of yesteryear by slowing down to a decidedly dawdling pace up past Bakers Park behind the breathless beast of burden.
