BOVEY Tracey’s veteran football club, the Wild Geese, booted an impressive £200 into Rowcroft’s coffers (see picture front page).
Players each pay £1 every Sunday before the team kicks-off and they let the total rack up before passing it out to different charities.
This time it was decided that the hospice would be the winner as close friend to the team, Mike Dyer, passed away after battling with cancer and the charity was there to support him.
Graeme Hankin, who plays for the club, said Mike was a great man and he was one of the first people he met when he moved to Bovey Tracey 16 years ago.
