THE new year could be a boom time for Teignmouth.

Millions of pounds in public and private money is due to be invested in the town in 2015 and a senior Teignbridge Council officer declared: 'Teignmouth is definitely on the up'.

Contractors have been appointed and work will start early next month on the new Carlton Pavilion on the seafront, with completion by the end of the year.

The striking multi-purpose building will be a focal point for the town, and is expected to give a big boost to tourism.
