MAJESTIC cedar trees which have lined the A380 from Penn Inn to Kingskerswell longer than anyone can remember are to be felled.
The five specimens have to come down to make way for the £110 million bypass.
But at least we have been able to save them from being turned into chippings.
Their loss has saddened and angered residents who thought they had been spared.
John Phillips, of Wolborough Hill, said: 'I wanted to take down a sycamore tree in my garden but was refused permission, yet everyone knows they are little more than weeds.
