A SECTION of the A38 will be closed overnight for essential maintenance next week.

There will be an eastbound closure from Heathfield to Chudleigh from 8pm on Friday, February 13, to 6am the following morning.

The closure is a part National Highways’ work to renew road markings and replace road studs along stretches of the A38 between Kennford and Loo Mills.

The work, which is being carried out in phases under overnight closures to keep disruption to a minimum, is expected to last until the spring.

There will be advance warning signs at Goodstone advising traffic to follow the diversion via the A383, Ashburton Road, Exeter Road, Jetty Marsh Road, A383, Greenhill Way, A380 and B3193.

Traffic at Heathfield will be diverted via: Liverton, A383, Ashburton Road, Exeter Road, Jetty Marsh Road, A383, Creenhill Way, A380 and B3193.
