AN evening of pampering at Teignmouth Golf Club raised almost £1,000 for the NSPCC.

The event on Thursday last week attracted 16 businesses and therapists keen to demonstrate their wares and techniques to an audience of 150 people.

Entrance fees and a raffle generated £917 for the charity.

For organiser Annmarie Bower. of Sidmouth-based Five Star Indulgence it was the first of the kind she had staged outside east Devon.

'The golf club was brilliant, very supportive of what we were doing.

'I've always been in PR and marketing and love to organise events like this and raise money for different charities.

'It's good for the businesses too as it lifts their profiles,' she said.
