Carnival in Bovey Tracey is alive and kicking after what some have described as the best in town for years.

Events kicked off with a family fun day fete last Saturday with stalls, games, vintage tractors, a hog roast and more.

They continued throughout the week with nights dedicated to bingo, skittles and a quiz, as well as a sports contest hosted by Bovey Tracey FC.

'That was mostly for the kids although there were also competitions for the adults so they could prove they were still up to it,' joked press officer Hayley Smith.

'The quiz and bingo nights were really popular as always and on Friday we staged an inter-pub challenge which was basically a pub crawl with challenges.
