ASHBURTON: There is to be a parade from the Royal British Legion Hut to the Recreation Ground tomorrow.

The parade, at 2.15pm, is in support of Armed Forces Day and will coincide with a fete in the recreation ground which is the opening event of the Ashburton Carnival Week.

On Sunday there is a barbecue in the grounds of the RBL Hut with tickets priced at £3.50 adults and £2.50 children.

DAWLISH: On the 67th anniversary of the D Day Landings on June 6, a support team from the Dawlish RBL branch, comprising two carers and a driver, were in Normandy escorting Dawlish resident and war hero piper Bill Millin on his annual pilgrimage to the D Day memorial ceremonies.
