THE deadline to raise finds for the Bovey Paradiso community share offer has now passed, and organiser Tony Pearce couldn’t be happier.
Altogether more than £460,000 in shares was raised. This included £100,000 from Big Society Capital – but more than 91 per cent of the remaining was raised within the community of Bovey Tracey.
Tony said: ‘That is an amazing achievement – and huge thanks to the 300 people who have invested in this project.
‘You can download the society’s business plan and rules, and the procedure for claiming Social Investment tax relief on the shares page of our website.
‘Our task now is raising the remaining £375,000 of funding we need from grants and donations.’
The cinema and arts complex is scheduled to open later this summer in the centre of Bovey Tracey, and there are still ways to get involved..
Tony explained: ‘You can still donate in exchange for cinema tickets and other benefits until 31 March 31. For further information on opportunities to invest in the project, contact me at info@
paradiso.org.uk or 01626 830595.
‘Thank you to everyone who has invested or donated – this project would not have been possible without them.’
