FOLLOWING a request by parishioners at a Parish meeting, Teignbridge District Council ran a poll for the parish of Buckfastleigh where voters supported a 77p per household increase in the town council precept to keep Victoria Park and swimming pool open from 2023 onwards.

With an electorate of 2,686, 569 ballot papers were issued: 318 in favour, 248 against and three ballot papers being rejected - voter turn out was 21.18 per cent.
