THE world record for the longest line of carved pumpkins has been smashed at River Dart Country Park.

A continuous line of 4,164 carved pumpkins was formed at the Ashburton park, breaking the previous record of 3,975 held by the City of Richland Center in Wisconsin, USA, since Halloween 2016.

A spokesman for the park said: ‘The pumpkins were placed in a continuous line and all touching as part of Guinness World Record guidelines. They were all hand-carved by the River Dart team and volunteers from groups, clubs and charities.
