A MAN has died following a road traffic collision with a vehicle near Bovey Tracey in the early hours of this morning (Sat Oct 6)

The incident occurred at around 2:30am on the A382 between Newton Abbot and Bovey Tracey.

A police spokesman said: “We were advised of a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian.”

“The vehicle, driven by a 47 year old male, collided with a pedestrian on the A382, Newton Road, Bovey Tracey. Emergency services attended the scene but sadly the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Diversions were put in place while investigation work took place and the road was re-opened just before 8.30am

The deceased was a 37 year old male not from the Devon and Cornwall area and his next of kin have been informed.

Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team are investigating the collision and would ask that anyone with information contact the Police on 101 quoting the log number 147 of 6th October 2018.
