CONTROVERSIAL plans to build 250 new homes on a prominent green space in Kingsteignton are due to go before planners next week.
Developer Eagle One homes has submitted an outline application for the site at Penns Mount for housing, open space, community orchard and gardens.
But 79 letters of objection have been sent to Teignbridge Council covering various concerns, including that the plan is premature until the latest Local Plan, currently at draft stage, is adopted.
Opponents also believe the development will be unsustainable with its impact on roads and services, adversely affect the lives of residents, have a dangerous access onto the A383, loss of green space, adversely impact on the landscape and entrance to the town.
