I know that many people are understandably concerned and frustrated that Bovey Tracey Hospital has been temporarily closed. Not least because this is the third time in five years that services have been withdrawn due to staff shortages.
It is also worth noting that it was only in May last year that I was campaigning to secure the reopening of the Ashburton and Buckfastleigh Hospital MIU.
The reason for its temporary closure? Staff shortages.
