Staff at Chudleigh Knighton Pre-School raised more than £1,000 by holding a sponsored walk in April.

They completed a round trip from Teignmouth to Dawlish Warren, covering 11 miles.

'It is a phenomenal amount for them to have raised,' said Ruth Hall, chairman at the pre-school.

'We are proud of our girls for all the effort they have put into the fundraising and would like to thank all those who sponsored them. these included Chudleigh Knighton Stores, Hadleys Fencing, Keyline, Kenmart Timber, Civil Solutions, Ben Nock fencing services, First Step Homes.

The pre-school is due to open the doors of its new purpose-built unit after the Easter holidays.

'We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has been helping us with our move, especially John and Blueberry Warren and those who have given donations and gifts for our new building,' said Mrs Hall.

'Thanks also go to all the staff, committee, family and friends of the pre-school who have all been involved in the move and getting the building ready for the children starting back,' said Mrs Hall.

'Huge thanks also go to Chudleigh Knighton Primary School for coming to the pre-school's rescue and giving them a temporary home.'

The first annual meeting for Chudleigh Knighton Pre-school Ltd will take place at its new premises at 7.30pm on June 8.
