THOUSANDS of people flocked to Teignmouth on Easter Monday on the hottest day of the year so far.

Traffic jams built up as motorists looked for any vacant space.

Shops did a roaring trade and the ferry between the town and Shaldon carried hundreds of passengers.

Resort manager Sarah Leach said it was 'a fantastic day'.
