DANCING dog Nora was among the highlights of the first Dawlish Loves Dogs dog show.

Furry friends of all breeds, shapes and sizes enjoyed the inaugural event, organised by Dawlish Town Council.

Held at Warren Farm, the show was held in response to a poll to gauge whether dog owners would be interested.

The positive reaction led to Sunday’s event which featured dog trainers and experts while raising money for Animals in Distress.

A town council spokesman said: ‘A massive thank you to everyone who came along.

‘You and your best dog friends braved the wind and joined us for a good day of demonstrations, talks and activities.

‘Thanks to all our stall holders, contractors, demonstrators, and volunteers ,without your support and patience the council could not have out it on.’

Among the demonstrations was Lorna Syrett and her four-year-old border collie Nora.

The pair will soon be representing the UK in the European Open Championship for Dog Dancing in October.
