THE pictures I have featured of the former Odeon Cinema certainly brought memories flooding back for many readers. It also prompted Bedford-based Phil Ledger to send me a shot which dates from the 1970s, and shows the sad entrance to the cinema with a jumble of letters indicating that it had closed, writes Steve Harris.

Phil said that growing up in Newton Abbot he had memories of the Saturday morning screenings which he attended in the early 1960s.
