Bovey Tracey Town Hall could soon be getting a near £750,000 revamp.
The idea, in the initial stages, would put entrance to the hall at the rear of the building to allow disabled access to be catered for.
There would also be a public gallery area and the office space would be redeveloped. A public consultation is planned for September.
The town council hopes to get a public work sector loan to pay for the development, which could cost between half and three quarters of a million pounds.
