APPROVAL has been given to transform a former car park in Brunel Industrial Estate into self-storage.

Submitted by TenTen Storage, which already operates a successful self-storage business in Newton Abbot, the application - reference 26/00182/FUL - sought permission from Teignbridge Council for 19 self-storage containers at the car park off Brunel Road, pictured.

The proposal to place self-storage containers on the site, which will be secured by a 2.4 metre palisade fence, will allow TenTen Storage to expand its business in the town.

And Teignbridge Council have granted permission.

‘The development hereby permitted shall begin before the expiry of three years from the date of this permission’, the council said.

The planning, design and access statement for 26/00182/FUL says:The scheme represents the modest expansion of a successful local business and the provision of additional self-storage facilities on site for hire by local people’.
