PLANS to convert a former piggery into a garden room in Drewsteignton were hogwash, Dartmoor planners have ruled.

They were not won over by applicant Anthony Thomas’s argument that the extension to his Hillside House home would preserve a ‘useful building for many years to come.’

There was some dispute over the remains of the piggery once having a roof with planners insisting that any addition to the property would spoil the look of the ‘scale, form and significance’ of surrounding outbuildings.
