DEVELOPERS have been given the green light to build up to 34 homes in Kingskerswell.

De Vere Farms Ltd were given the go ahead with its scheme to build the properties on land to the rear of Mount Pleasant Road on Tuesday morning by Teignbridge Council’s planning committee.

The site, which stretches almost three acres, has been allocated by the district authority for residential development.

Ward member Cllr Shelia Hook said she had concerns about access to the site, drainage and the proposed area being on a steep slope.

David Seaton, on behalf of the developers, reassured members that issues like highways and landscape will be discussed at a later date - as the current one is only outline.

Cllr Charlie Dennis said: ‘I can’t see how this is going to be a problem. As far as I am concerned the site is fine.’

All 15 councillors voted in favour of the venture.
