RESIDENTS in Teignbridge will be able to learn more about the Teignbridge 10 Super Projects this month as the district authority hits the road with its Council Strategy.
People will also be able to find out how the council will meet the needs of the district over the next decade.
The strategy sets out the tone for how the council works, its vision, goals and how these will be achieved.
It helps target services effectively to meet local needs and shows how Teignbridge’s work benefits local people, businesses and visitors.
The10 super projects are connected areas of work and will guide the council’s activities and the shape of its services to withstand future technological, economic and social changes.
The 10 projects are to keep the district clean, to invest in town centres, reduce waste and carbon emissions, provide well-designed quality neighbourhoods, liaise with, help and support communities, create jobs and wealth, improve health, provide opportunities for healthier active and fitness leisure, provide more better and affordable homes and improve travel options.
The authority will be at Newton Abbot’s Courtenay Park tomorrow (Wednesday, August 3) from noon to 3pm and The Lawn in Dawlish on Thursday (August 4) from 10am to 4pm, before visiting Bovey Tracey’s Mill Marsh Park on Sunday (AUG 7) from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, Hennock Country Fair on August 14 from noon to 4pm and Christow Show on August 20 from noon to 4pm.
Leader of the Independents, Cllr Mike Haines, said: ‘Over the next few weeks Teignbridge residents have the opportunity to find out more about the new council strategy for the district while also engaging in community events in their local area.
‘Two good reasons to go out and support the local community.’
