AN unusual planning application has been received by Teignbridge Council. It’s a change of use from public toilets to a catering unit.

The old toilet block at Mary Street car park in Bovey Tracey is just one of several across Teignbridge which have been closed in recent years due to running costs and a fall in demand.

Now the toilets in Bovey may get a new lease of life as a small, child-friendly cafe with a serving hatch offering takeaways.

A decision by planners is expected in October. For details of the application, reference 18/01453/FUL, go to the Teignbridge Council planning portal.
